ADVISORY

This commentary on the book of Revelation was completed several years ago when this website was still young.  I compiled many of the conclusions regarding the book’s contents from several well-founded evangelical and prophetic authors, often listing competing points-of-view and leaving it up to the reader’s decision as to which one to believe.  On many passages I expressed my opinion.

After several years of continued study in Scripture, I have come to the realization that some of my positions regarding a few passages and expressions in the book were flawed.  For example, I now understand the “Lord’s Day” in chapter one verse ten as not referring to the first day of the week, but rather to a period of time of judgment, which will come at the ending of “Man’s Day.”  In fact, instead of the first three chapters of the book as primarily depicting the Church’s history (which may be a secondary interpretation), I now see them primarily referring to the judgment of Christians at Christ’s judgment seat immediately following the rapture of the Church.  Additionally, I also now see the twenty-four elders before the throne in chapter four as angelic beings who relinquish their crowns to Christ in preparation of their subsequent bestowal on those Christians who will become His bride and therefore reign and rule with Him during the Messianic area.

It is for this reason that I am endeavoring to complete a second work on this book, in a different format, which precedes this commentary.  Nevertheless, since this commentary also contains a large body of research and truth regarding many different doctrinal issues that impact on an understanding of this very critical book of canon, I have made the decision to retain this study for your consideration.

In the final analysis, it is up to the reader as to what is the correct interpretation.  I only pray that any such decisions are made conjunctive with the submissive attitude to the Holy Spirit as the ultimate Teacher of truth (John 16:13).
